100 × points ÷ possessionsWhat it means
Ratings strip pace out of scoring. A team that scores 120 a game in a fast league may be less efficient than one scoring 105 slowly; per 100 possessions the comparison is fair.
The difference between the two, net rating, is the cleanest single measure of how well a team played.
